Weekend Getaway Style
Going away for a weekend or just a night during the fall is one of the best things to do in Maryland. Especially if you go to the beach or somewhere that is the off-season, so I thought it would be fun to throw together a post outlining everything I packed for 2 very different weekend trips - a crab feast at the beach and a wedding at a quaint B&B.
But one of the biggest challenges is packing for a weekend getaway in Maryland, in the fall. The weather is all over the place and can be 40 degrees in the morning and by lunchtime, be in the 70s. So dressing for this kind of dramatic weather and knowing what to pack in a weekender bag can be difficult.
I have a few staples that I always pack when I go away in the cooler months - My comfiest denim, booties, and lots of layers.
What I Packed:
I'm giving you a pretty detailed rundown of everything I packed for these 2 weekends since they're so different! Both were packed in a small carry-on size suitcase, but would easily fit in a weekender bag (In my 3rd trimester, there's no way I'm picking up a bag to carry... so wheels it is!)
Weekend One: Eastern Shore Crab Feast
This is an annual trip hubby and I do each year and look forward to. We catch up with friends and are only away for one night, so it's pretty light packing!

My open-knit cardigan has been my favorite for years (here's something similar)
My favorite chunky sweater in olive
Gray lightweight quilted vest
2 pairs of shoes
My favorite, go-to booties in Dark Taupe Suede are perfect for the evening when it gets cooler out along the water
These super comfy slip on sneakers that are great for wearing during the day
Other Stuff: straightener, blow dryer, 1 bralette, underwear, etc., tablet/charger, 1 book, and toiletries
Daytime Outfit: I paired my camo top with my favorite maternity jeans and topped it off with my go-to cardigan and slip-on sneakers. This was such a comfy outfit and was the perfect amount of layering for cooler temperatures.

For both weekends, I was able to pack my stuff and hubby's things in ONE BAG that is carry-on sized. The key is to pack versatile pieces that can be worn multiple ways or be rolled when packing.
