Better Than Starbucks Maple Pecan Latte

As soon as September 1st hits, I'm ready for fall. Sweaters, scarves, boots, changing leaves, crisp air, and of course, cozy hot drinks. Starbucks released their fall drinks a few weeks ago and I knew I could make it better, and way cheaper at home #onabudget

There is just something about seasonal drinks that makes mornings, afternoons, or time with friends a little more cozy and special.

I use a French press to make pecan-infused coffee. This is so simple and doesn't require any extra sugary syrups. Brewing the nuts in the coffee gives the perfect flavor every time. If you don't have a French press - it's time to get one!

Maple Pecan Latte

Ingredients

  • 5-6 Tbsp River's Edge CRBC coffee

  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 4 cups almost boiling water

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. maple extract

  1. Heat water until it's almost boiling - approximately 4 cups of water

  2. In the French Press, combine ground coffee and chopped pecans. Slowly pour the water overtop and place lid. Let steep for about 5 minutes before pressing down.

  3. Pour milk mixture, maple extract, and cinnamon in a milk frother. Turn on heat and foam.

  4. Pour coffee into mug, about 1/2 way. Stir in brown sugar and stir to dissolve

  5. Slowly pour in steamed milk and top with the foam.

Garnish with cinnamon for a little extra flair. Sip and enjoy!
