Chic Travel Style for Business Trips

I'm all about comfort when I travel. But when I have to get off a plane or out of the car after a long drive, it's hard to do that in leggings and a t-shirt. Traveling for business definitely has its perks, but since it's not a vacation, my packing list looks a lot different.

It's a given that no one wants to show up to their destination looking wrinkled and unprofessional. The trick is finding pieces that are lightweight, don't wrinkle, and can be mixed-and-matched to give you a variety of choices in just a carry-on bag. Sticking to neutrals is my biggest tip I can offer - it's timeless, stylish, and versatile. I love a good white top in the warmer months, so it's no surprise that I'm bringing all white shirts! Knit dresses and pants are a great way to look put together without having to worry about wrinkles during travel.

On my upcoming trip, I'm flying up north and when I get off the plane, have to be ready to hit the ground running - so my travel outfit will consist of a white tank, black joggers, and comfy flats. This is a classic timeless look that is professional and comfy.

Here's a little look inside my bag:

Tops: It's important to me that these tops be versatile and loose-fitting. When I travel or when I'm busy, I don't like wearing tight or form-fitting tops.

Dresses & Pants: Knit dresses are my favorite way to look put together and remain as comfortable as possible. These two dresses are my absolute favorites and rightfully so - they're flattering and perfect for an on-the-go, hectic day. I don't like to travel in jeans, but feel uncomfortable wearing leggings when I travel for work, so joggers are the next best thing. These are chic enough to wear for meetings and still feel like I'm wearing sweats on a plane.

Shoes: Flats that double as work wear are a winner in my book, especially if they slide one and off easily for airport security. Heels that you can walk around in all day are key - don't pack shoes you can't wear for long periods of time. Shoes take up a lot of space in a suitcase, so only pack what you absolutely need - no room for unnecessary items.

Other Items: Bringing a bag that works as a carry on and can fit work stuff in it is a great way to maximize uses for something that is otherwise bulky. My go-to bag is technically a diaper bag - but that means it has lots of interior pockets and can be wiped clean, making it ideal for traveling.

A sleep mask is crucial for early flights and for getting a good night's sleep in a hotel room. This silky one is great for flying since it won't mat down your hair or makeup. Getting off a flight can usually make your skin feel dry and dull. I love using this facial spray to give me a little boost.

Under eye masks are my new latest obsession. They get rid of bags under your eye and make you feel more awake and refreshed. I'll use them the night before an event to make me look wide awake (regardless of tired I may actually feel!)

Even though I packed all wrinkle-free attire, I don't go anywhere without my hand-held steamer anymore. It's the best way to ensure my clothes look fresh and wrinkle-free.
