Holiday Cocktail: A Santa Claus-mopolitan

Christmas is a time for celebration, and what better way to celebrate than with a delicious and festive cocktail? If you're looking for a twist on the classic cosmopolitan, try this Christmas cosmo recipe. It's bright, refreshing, and easily made for a crowd.

How to Make a Santa Claus-mopolitan

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka

  • 1 oz cranberry juice

  • 0.5 oz triple sec

  • 0.5 oz lime juice

  • 0.5 oz cranberry simple syrup (recipe below!)

  • Ice

  • Sugared cranberries for garnish

  • Rosemary sprig, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup.

  2. Shake well until the ingredients are well combined.

  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.

  4. Garnish with sugared cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.

  5. Sip and enjoy!

This Christmas cosmo is the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and the cranberry and rosemary garnishes add a festive touch. The triple sec adds a nice citrus touch, which pairs well with the cranberry and lime. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, you can adjust the amount of simple syrup to your liking.

To make the cranberry simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan and bring to a low boil. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat & add 1 cup of cranberries. Use a spatula to smash cranberries as they soften. Strain into a mason jar and store in an airtight container.

This recipe makes one cocktail, but it can easily be multiplied for a party. If you make it in a pitcher, stir well and add ice right before serving so it does not get watered down. Make sure to have plenty of ice on hand to keep the drinks cold. You can also get creative with the garnishes - try using a sugared rim or a sprig of holly for an extra festive touch.

Whether you're hosting a holiday party or want to treat yourself to a special drink, this Christmas cosmo is sure to be a hit. So gather your ingredients, mix up a batch, and cheers to the holiday season!
